How it works
Teach young players to reset quickly and keep playing after having a flag pulled, practicing composure and resilience in a game format.

Your focus
Young players often become frustrated or deflated after giving up a flag pull, which compounds their difficulty in the next play. Practicing an immediate reset after a flag pull builds the emotional habit of resilience. Game-format repetition makes composure feel natural rather than forced.
Play 3v3 flag football with a rule: after each flag pull, the player who lost the flag must immediately call 'Reset!' and clap.
The team that resets fastest (all three players clapping within 2 seconds) earns a bonus point on top of the defensive score.
Continue for 10 minutes of live play; coach tracks both scores and reset speed.
End with a team discussion: who bounced back the fastest and why did it matter?
Goal
You've got it when you have your flag pulled and immediately reset with a smile, you're back in position before the next play.
Helpful cues
