How it works
Demonstrate elite coachability by accepting and applying complex tactical corrections during a competitive live scrimmage without losing competitive intensity.

Your focus
The hardest coachability challenge is absorbing tactical complexity mid-competition without losing focus or confidence. Advanced players who can receive a deep coverage scheme correction between plays and apply it immediately are valuable assets in any system. This drill builds the mental switching speed required at the highest levels of organized flag football.
Run a full 5v5 scrimmage; coaches interrupt between plays (not during) with detailed corrections covering multiple players.
Players have 20 seconds to process and confirm a multi-part adjustment (e.g., 'Safety rotate to the hash, corner bump to zone 2 coverage').
Execute the next play with the full adjustment applied; coach grades accuracy of implementation.
Debrief after the drive: which players demonstrated the fastest and most accurate adjustment application?
Goal
Success is making the adjustment mid-scrimmage in real time, accepting it without argument and showing the change in the next play.
Helpful cues
- Big players make coaches' jobs easy
- Complexity is a compliment, coaches give hard adjustments to players they trust
- Absorb, confirm, execute, in that order
