How it works
Build resilience as a shooter by immediately re-shooting after a blocked attempt until a goal is scored.

- field hockey ball
- goal
- goalkeeper gear
Your focus
Strikers who give up after a block cost their team goals. Training the immediate re-shot response builds resilience specific to the scoring situation. Players who persist after blocks score more second-chance goals , a significant competitive advantage.
Player shoots on goal; goalkeeper blocks. Player must immediately follow up without hesitation.
Continue the sequence until a goal is scored or ball goes out of bounds.
Count how many follow-up shots each player takes per session.
Celebrate persistence (most follow-up shots) as much as goals scored.
Goal
You've got it when a blocked shot makes you go again immediately, you're already setting for the rebound before the ball stops.
Helpful cues
- The block is the opportunity, stay on it
