Your focus
The passing square is a foundational field hockey exercise for developing accurate passing in multiple directions. Players learn to receive and immediately redirect, building the quick-touch awareness needed for game play. Consistent repetitions develop passing muscle memory.
4 players at corners of a 15x15-yard square.
Ball moves around the square clockwise for 2 minutes, then counter-clockwise.
Introduce direction changes on a coach's signal.
Progress to a 1-touch requirement after players are comfortable.
Goal
You're there when all four players in the square are catching the pass in stride, nobody stopping to wait, everyone moving.
