How it works
Build competitive drive and sprint effort through head-to-head races to be the first to score on a mini goal.
What you need
- field hockey sticks
- field hockey ball
- cones
- mini goals
Your focus
Racing to score creates a pure competitive environment where effort is the decisive factor. Head-to-head format generates personal investment and urgency. Players who regularly compete in sprint-to-score scenarios develop the automatic high-effort response needed in games.
Two players start 20 yards from a mini goal; ball placed at the 10-yard mark.
On signal, both sprint to the ball; whoever gets there first attacks the goal.
The player who doesn't get the ball immediately defends.
Play to 5 goals total; rotate partners after each game.
Goal
You're there when you sprint the whole race distance and score, not jogging and hoping, actually racing.
