How it works

Build confidence through visible mastery progression by completing increasingly difficult dribbling tasks on a personal challenge ladder.

What you need

  • field hockey stick
  • field hockey ball
  • cones

Your focus

Confidence comes from demonstrated competence. A personal ladder allows players to progress at their own pace while always achieving. Visible progress toward higher rungs motivates continued effort and builds belief in one's ability to improve.

1

Create a 5-level challenge ladder (Level 1: weave through 5 cones; Level 5: weave through 5 cones with reverse stick only).

2

Players start at their appropriate level and complete each challenge.

3

Once they complete a level successfully 3 times in a row, they advance.

4

Track levels at the start and end of each week; celebrate every advancement.

Goal

You've got it when you consistently clear each level of the mastery ladder before moving up, don't skip steps, earn each one.

Helpful cues

  • You set the pace, no comparing ladders
  • Every level you beat is proof you can beat the next
  • Confidence is built one challenge at a time
