How it works
Develop an attitude of accountability and leadership by rotating team captains who are responsible for their team's energy during a competitive relay.

- field hockey ball
- cones
Your focus
Placing leadership responsibility on players develops ownership of team attitude. When athletes must actively model and manage the energy of their group, they internalize the attitude habits more deeply. Competitive relay format creates genuine pressure that tests the attitude skills.
Divide into teams of 4; rotate a 'captain' role each rep who is responsible for the team's energy and communication.
Run a moving with the ball relay race, each player dribbles 20 yards and back, hands off to the next.
Captain must actively encourage teammates and redirect any negativity during the relay.
Debrief: which captain's attitude was most impactful and why?
