How it works
Build aerobic endurance in a fun game format where players dribble continuously for 5 minutes.

Your focus
Young players build cardiovascular endurance most effectively through continuous play rather than structured conditioning. Dribble tag keeps them moving without feeling like exercise, building the aerobic base that supports all basketball activity. The game format ensures high motivation and maximum movement time.
All players dribble a ball in the half-court. Two players are designated 'taggers' and also dribble.
Taggers must tag other players with their free hand while keeping their dribble alive.
Tagged player does 5 stationary dribbles and re-enters. Taggers change every 90 seconds.
Play for 5 minutes without stopping. Every player should be continuously moving.
Goal
You've got it when you're still dribbling at the 4-minute mark at the same pace you were at minute 1, not just surviving, actually playing.
Helpful cues
- Keep moving, stop and you become an easy target
- Protect your dribble even while tagging
- Fast feet make you hard to catch
