How it works

Demonstrate maximum sustained effort through a full-team competitive conditioning sprint where the team's collective effort determines all outcomes.

What you need

  • basketball
  • full court
  • stopwatch

Your focus

Individual effort during team conditioning defines team culture. Players who compete in conditioning build the physical capacity for fourth-quarter dominance. Teams that treat every sprint as a competition develop deeper collective effort reserves than teams who simply complete the workout.

1

Team runs 17 full space sprints (the end line to the end line), the standard for collegiate conditioning.

2

Target time per sprint is 30 seconds including the walk back. Any player over 30 seconds = team does one extra sprint.

3

Players are split into two competing groups, faster average group wins.

4

Post individual and group times. Review improvement across sessions.

Helpful cues

  • You are deciding your teammate's sprint right now, choose effort
  • Winners finish every sprint the same way: full speed through the line
  • The 17th sprint matters as much as the 1st, show me

Adjust the challenge

Make it easier

Strip it back

Reduce to 10 sprints with a 35-second target time.

UpLVL it

Add the next challenge

Players carry a ball, fumble or stop dribbling = one extra sprint for the group.

Build a practice plan

Add drills, keep the plan in this browser, then share a link with your staff or parents.

This library helps you find the right drill. Inside UpLVL the right drill finds the player.

After every practice, UpLVL automatically surfaces the drills each player needs to work on most. See it for yourself.
