Coordination & Body Control
Legend

How it works
Improve full-body coordination by alternating jump rope and ball-handling sequences.
What you need
- basketball
- jump rope
Your focus
Basketball requires the body to coordinate upper and lower extremities simultaneously. Combining jump rope and dribbling forces the brain to integrate rhythm, timing, and limb independence. Athletes who train this coordination become smoother, more fluid movers on the court.
Player jumps rope for 30 seconds at a steady pace.
Immediately transition to stationary two-ball dribbling for 30 seconds.
Back to jump rope, this time single-leg hops for 30 seconds.
Finish with dribble combo: alternating high-low dribbles for 30 seconds. Complete 3 full cycles.
Goal
It's working when you transition from rope to dribble without the dribble sequence starting over, pick up exactly where the rhythm left off.
Helpful cues
- Keep your rhythm consistent between each transition
- Your feet and hands need to talk to each other
- No pausing between transitions, fluid change is the goal
