Your focus
Multiple consecutive misses are the biggest composure challenge a shooter faces. Players who panic and change their form after misses fall into miss spirals. Training the ability to shoot with identical mechanics regardless of previous results is a championship-level mental skill.
Player shoots from the elbow. If they miss, they stay at the same spot for the next attempt.
After any make, player rotates to the next spot. After 3 consecutive misses, player must name 1 thing they're doing right.
Continue for 10 makes. Track how many times they reached 3 consecutive misses.
Debrief: How did your mechanics change after 2 misses? What helped you reset?
Goal
Success is making your next 3 shots after two consecutive misses, the misses didn't change your shot selection or mechanics, just your made count.
Helpful cues
- Misses are data, not failures, what do they tell you?
- Same form on attempt 10 as on attempt 1
- Trust your mechanics more than you trust your recent results
