How it works

Pass, set, and hit against a wall continuously for 3 minutes to build volleyball-specific endurance.

What you need

  • volleyball
  • wall

Your focus

Pepper (pass-set-hit) against a wall builds all three contacts in sequence while requiring the constant movement and recovery that volleyball demands. Three minutes of continuous reps builds game-ready endurance.

1

Stand 5 yards from a wall.

2

Bump the ball to the wall. As it returns, set it high.

3

Spike or attack it at the wall. Bump the return. Continue.

4

Keep the cycle going for 3 minutes without stopping.

5

Count total cycles. Rest 90 seconds. Repeat twice.

Goal

You've got it when you complete 3 consecutive minutes without losing the ball, maintaining all three contacts throughout.

Helpful cues

  • Platform flat on the pass, don't swing at the ball
  • Set high to give yourself time to swing
  • Stay light on your feet between contacts

Adjust the challenge

Make it easier

Strip it back

Just pass-and-catch against the wall to build the rhythm before adding the set and hit.
