How it works

Your focus
Young athletes need to learn that full effort is the team standard, not the exception. Celebrating hustle , not just successful outcomes , trains the mindset that hard work is always worth it regardless of the result. At the foundational level, effort habit-building is more important than technical perfection.
Coach explains the Hustle Rule: any player who dives, slides, or runs full speed to play a ball that looks out of reach earns a team 'Hustle Point.'
Play a simplified 3v3 game with soft balls; coach watches specifically for full-effort plays, not just successful ones.
When a Hustle Point is earned, entire team freezes and celebrates with a designated team cheer for 5 seconds, then play resumes.
At the end, tally Hustle Points separately from game score; most Hustle Points team gets to lead the cool-down activity.
Goal
You've got it when you sprint for a ball you're not sure you'll reach, hustle plays happen before your brain says 'probably can't get that.'
