Your focus
The most revealing tests of attitude occur in real competition, particularly in close games with external pressure. Simulating those scenarios in practice , with official observation and consequences , prepares athletes to bring their best attitude when it matters most. USA Volleyball IMPACT teaches that character is revealed under pressure, not just practiced in easy moments.
Run a full scrimmage set to 25 points with standard rally scoring.
Coach introduces scenario elements: officiating errors will be intentionally made; coach will challenge players publicly during dead balls.
Players are evaluated on: response to bad calls, body language after errors, how they treat opponents, and how they respond to coaching criticism.
At set end, each player rates their own attitude out of 10 and explains why.
Teammates give one specific piece of positive attitude feedback per player.
Goal
You're there when you compete as hard in the simulated high-stakes moment as you do in a real match, the pressure is an opportunity, not a threat.
