Your focus
Support movement , getting into a position to receive a pass , must be constant and dynamic. Players who understand how to create triangles and offer angles whenever a teammate has the ball become the most reliable possession players at any level.
3v3 in a 20x15 yard area. Mini goals at each end.
When your team has the ball, the two players without it must create two supporting angles within 3 yards of the ball carrier.
Coach shouts 'show me' at random moments, both supporting players must be visible and within range.
If no support is available, the team concedes a free pass to the opposition.
Play for 8 minutes with regular 'show me' checks.
Debrief: when was support best? When did it break down?
Goal
Success is being available for every pass in every sequence, at least two clear options visible at all times, and at least one of them is you.
Helpful cues
- As soon as your teammate receives, you move to support
- Never be behind the ball carrier, always offer a forward or sideways angle
- Triangle shape: ball carrier can always see two options
