Your focus
Clearances in real games happen in transition , when the team has just lost the ball and attackers are bearing down. Training this scenario develops the decision-making speed and technical execution needed in the most pressured clearing situations.
Set up a 30x40 yard field with full-size goals. 4v4 plus goalkeepers.
Teams play normally; when coach blows whistle, ball is immediately served into the penalty area.
Two defenders must deal with the ball (clear or keeper catches) before an attacker gets a shot.
Play resumes from the clearance.
Award 2 points for a clearance that reaches the halfway line, 1 for clearing the area.
Play 15 minutes; track clearance success rates per team.
Goal
Success is executing a clean clearance under transition pressure in the live game, the ball exits your defensive third before attackers can challenge.
