Your focus
Progressive overload in possession drills forces players to improve their ball control under increasing threat levels. Moving from 3v1 to 3v2 mirrors the escalating pressure players face as they advance in competition.
Start 3v1 in a 8x8 yard grid; 1-touch limit for the possessing team.
After 2 minutes, coach adds a second defender, now 3v2.
After 2 more minutes, add a third defender, now 3v3 in the same small grid.
When the defense wins the ball they immediately become the possessing team.
Count consecutive passes; new record = team challenge.

Goal
Success is maintaining clean possession when the defenders increase to two. If your touch holds up at 3v2 at full pace, you've earned this one.
Helpful cues
- Weight of pass matters, too hard loses control, too soft invites the defender
- Body between the ball and the defender at all times
- Disguise your pass, look one way, play another
