How it works
Develop ground-to-air power by scooping a ground ball and immediately delivering a power pass in one explosive motion.
What you need
- lacrosse stick
- lacrosse ball
Your focus
The ground ball scoop to outlet pass is one of the most physically demanding short sequences in lacrosse. Developing the hip and core power to transition from a low scoop position to an upright power throw builds the athletic quality that makes transition play explosive.
Ball is placed on the ground 5 yards ahead of the player.
Player sprints, drops low, scoops through the ball, and immediately fires a power pass to a target 15 yards away.
Focus on fluid hip extension from the low scoop to the upright power throw.
Complete 10 scoop-to-throw reps alternating left and right feed sides.
Goal
Success is executing the full speed-to-power combo circuit and finishing the last station with the same power output as the first, conditioning shouldn't visibly reduce your power.
Helpful cues
- Explode through the scoop, your legs drive the lift, not your back
- Transition from low to high in one continuous motion
- Power pass needs arm drive, don't just flip the ball after the scoop
