How it works
Develop game leadership skills by having a designated player independently call plays for a full offensive series without coach direction.

Your focus
Flag football leaders must be capable of calling plays under pressure, managing teammate expectations, and adjusting based on what the defense shows. Independent play calling forces the leader to own the decision and its consequences. Players who practice independent play calling develop the decision accountability that defines field leadership.
Assign a play-calling leader for a full 6-play offensive series; coach provides no play suggestions.
Leader calls each play in the huddle with full authority; teammates execute without questioning the call.
After the series, leader reviews each play call: what information drove the decision? What would they change?
Rotate play-calling leader to a different player each series; compare leadership approaches.
Helpful cues
- Own your calls, good or bad
- If it did not work, learn from it and call the next one with the same confidence
- A leader adjusts the plan, not the effort
