How it works
Give every young player the experience of leading a huddle call so they develop basic leadership confidence in a flag football context.

Leadership begins with the simple act of speaking up in a group with confidence. Rotating the huddle captain role ensures all players, not just naturally dominant ones, develop leadership behaviors. Young players who experience calling plays for teammates build the early leadership identity that supports future development.
Before each series, a different player is designated as the huddle captain.
The captain stands in the center of the huddle circle and calls the play by name (coach provides the play name beforehand).
All other players must look at and acknowledge the captain before breaking the huddle.
Rotate through all players over the practice session; debrief on what it felt like to lead.
