How it works
Maintain a competitive, positive attitude when facing repeated defensive stops in a red zone scenario.
What you need
- football
- flags
- cones
Your focus
The red zone creates high-pressure moments where attitude is tested by tight coverage and fewer options. Players who bring energy and encouragement to a struggling offense help teammates stay sharp. Practicing red zone adversity with an attitude focus prepares players mentally before they face it in a real game.
Set up a set distance red zone between two cone lines with 4 offensive and 4 defensive players.
Offense gets 4 plays to score; defense's goal is a shutout. Repeat for 4 rounds.
Coach awards one 'Attitude Rep' per round to the player (offense or defense) who displayed the best attitude regardless of result.
After all rounds, winning team's attitude is evaluated by the losing team, what did they see?
Helpful cues
- High energy after stops, defense celebrates every flag pull
- Offense resets fast, no drooping shoulders
- Bring your best attitude when the game is hardest
