How it works
Develop proper spacing habits by filling corner and wing spots immediately when a teammate drives to the basket.

Your focus
When the ball handler drives, off-ball players must relocate to specific spots to create passing and shooting opportunities. Players who fill the right spaces give their teammate a kick-out option and stretch the defense. This automatic spacing habit is the difference between an organized offense and a crowded ball-following mess.
Ball handler drives from the wing. Three other offensive players must immediately relocate: corner expands, weak-side wing fills, top of key fills.
Ball handler decides: finish, kick to corner, or kick to weak side.
Coach evaluates spacing: Were all three spots filled before the drive reached the paint?
Run 10 reps from each wing. Rotate ball-handler role.
Goal
It's working when you fill the corner before the driver kicks it out, you're already there, not arriving late and forcing a skip.
Helpful cues
- When the ball drives, you move, immediately, not after they're in the paint
- Spread to the corners first, that's where the defense has to go
- Your job on the kick-out is to be open before they look at you
