How it works
Develop shot selection habits under game conditions by rewarding correct shot choices over made shots in a 3v3 game.

Your focus
Teams that reward good shot selection develop more efficient offensive players than teams that reward only made shots. When players understand that the decision matters as much as the outcome, their shot selection improves dramatically. This scoring system creates the right incentives for smart offensive development.
Play 3v3 half-court. Made basket from open look = 3 pts; made contested shot = 1 pt; bad shot (forced, off-balance) made = 0 pts.
Coach grades every shot attempt on quality. A wide-open missed shot still earns 2 pts, the decision was right.
Track team shot-quality score alongside the actual score. Compare them.
Highest quality score wins the game, not just highest basket count.
Goal
Success is earning more shot-quality points than any other team, correct choices, not just made shots. The right shot is the goal.
Helpful cues
- Great shot selection is worth more than great shooting in this game
- If you're not sure it's open, it probably isn't, pass
