How it works
Force high-quality verbal communication by requiring the passer to pass to a moving teammate without looking.

Your focus
Elite passers pass to sound and movement, not just visual cues. This drill forces teammates to communicate their location verbally so the passer can find them. The skill directly improves passing accuracy in traffic and off screens where vision is obscured.
Passer stands at half-court and closes their eyes. Two receivers move around the three-point arc calling 'Here! Here!' or their name.
Passer must identify which receiver to pass to based on voice and proximity, then execute the pass.
Receiver catches and immediately passes back, passer keeps eyes closed for 3 consecutive reps.
Rotate roles every 3 reps. Discuss what verbal cues worked best.
Goal
It's working when the pass still reaches the correct target even though you couldn't look, the verbal communication did the work the eyes normally do.
Helpful cues
- Be specific, 'here' is not enough, say your name and direction
- Strong clear voice, not a whisper
- Passer: trust the voice, commit to the pass
