Wrestling Evaluations
How to evaluate
a wrestler.
- Pick the skillsRate one skill at a time. This form lists all 28. UpLVL tracks the same ones.
- Use one scale for every wrestlerUse 1 to 10 on paper. In UpLVL, every rating also gets a stage, from Foundation to Advanced.
- Rate what holds up at game speedA skill counts when it shows up with pace and pressure on.
- Name one strength and one focusTell the wrestler what they do best and what to work on next. Every UpLVL report opens with both.
- Write an overall assessmentSum it up in a paragraph or two. UpLVL builds this automatically from your voice notes and skill scores.
- Give them something to work onPick a drill for the skill that needs it. UpLVL adds a home drill to every report.
- Repeat it through the seasonDo it again in a few weeks to see growth. UpLVL updates every time you speak a note, so you never start from a blank sheet.

Evaluation FAQ
Player evaluation
questions.
- What should a wrestler evaluation include?
- Ratings on specific skills in four areas: technical, tactical, physical and mental. Add one strength, one skill to work on next, and a short note. This template covers 28 wrestling skills.
- How do you write a player evaluation?
- Rate each skill on one scale. Then write what you saw: one thing the player does well and one thing to work on, with a drill for it. Keep it specific to that player.
- How long should player evaluations take?
- Done once a year from memory, clubs tell us evaluations take days to weeks. With UpLVL, a coach speaks a 15 second note during practice and the report is built by the time practice ends.
- How often should players be evaluated?
- Often enough that parents see progress while the season is still going. UpLVL coaches speak short notes during practice, so the record builds as they go.
