How it works
Build composure after consecutive errors by training players to maintain technique and focus after a bad run.

Your focus
The biggest threat to composure is not a single error but a string of errors. Players who lose composure after two or three consecutive mistakes often spiral and compound the problem. This drill artificially creates multi-error scenarios so players practice the mental reset before encountering it in a real match.
Player is serving. Coach instructs: player must commit three intentional errors (delivers net or out) in a row to simulate a bad run.
After the third error, coach calls 'Reset.' Player takes three slow breaths and verbally confirms readiness.
Player must then serve five consecutive makes, using their composure routine before every serve.
If player loses focus or makes an unforced error, restart the five consecutive serves.
Track how many reset cycles each player needs before completing five consecutive serves.
Helpful cues
- Errors happened, they're done. This serve is brand new.
- Your body still knows how to serve, trust your training
- The score doesn't care about your last three serves, and neither should you
