How it works
Dribble through a tight cone corridor at low speed, keeping the ball close and under control.
What you need
- cones
- soccer ball
Your focus
Press resistance requires close control in tight spaces. The cone corridor simulates a press , the player must keep the ball protected through a channel that doesn't allow wide touches.
Set 6 cones in two parallel lines, 2 yards apart, 10 yards long.
Player dribbles through the corridor using small touches, left, right foot alternating.
The ball must not touch a cone. If it does, restart.
Do 5 runs through the corridor.
Once clean: do 3 runs without looking down.
Goal
You've got it when you run the full corridor 3 times without touching a cone, with your head up.
Helpful cues
- Small touches, the ball stays 1 foot away from your body
- Keep your head up, trust your feet
- Stay in the middle of the corridor
