How it works
Practice holding pressure on the ball carrier for 3+ seconds without fouling.
What you need

Your focus
Applying stick pressure without fouling requires precise positioning and body control. This drill builds the discipline to hold a contested defensive position for multiple seconds , the key to forcing turnovers.
Place a cone at attacker position. Player starts 2 yards away.
On signal, close out and apply stick pressure.
Hold containment position for a 3-count without slashing.
Step back, reset, repeat.
10 reps. Focus on stick angle and body balance.
Goal
You've got it when you hold the pressure position for a full 3-count on 8 of 10 reps without fouling.
Helpful cues
- Stick at 45 degrees, in the passing lane, not slashing
- Feet shoulder-width apart, low center of gravity
- Hold the position, count to three before releasing
