How it works
Improve scanning and decision making by reading how many defenders are in a zone before choosing a pass or dribble solution.

Your focus
Advanced decision making requires counting and processing multiple defenders simultaneously. This drill trains the visual scanning habit that distinguishes perceptive players from reactive ones. Faster processing of defensive numbers leads to better decisions under time pressure.
A 20x15-yard grid has 2 zones; defenders can move between zones freely.
Ball carrier scans both zones, then decides: pass to the zone with fewer defenders, or dribble into space.
Coach counts the quality of decisions (correct read and execution) over 10 reps.
After the drill, discuss which cues were most useful for reading the grid.
Goal
Success is choosing the right solution based on how many defenders are in the zone, you see the numbers and react correctly.
